Can you tell us a little more about you and your styling background?
I’ve been in the profession for about seven years. Since childhood I loved doing dolls’ hair and then my friends’ hair. Also loved knitting. That is why my fingers are very strong now, which came in handy in braiding.
I didn’t find my style of doing hair all at once.
Over time, I learned to listen to myself and do what I like and not do what others expect from me. That’s how I found my own style. And then there were the customers themselves, who shared with me my vision.
What bridal trends are you loving right now?
I like two aspects of braiding. Ease and simplicity, or the opposite of perfectly styled, sleek and defined lines of braids.
One way or the other, the pearl accessories, that I love so much, fit in perfectly. I don’t think they will ever go out of style. At least in bridal fashion for sure.
What new trends can we look forward to?
The trend for classic, exuberant wedding hairstyles is gradually disappearing. It’s being replaced by something more succinct, classy and calm.
How do you stay inspired?
I do what I love. I love my work and I get inspired by it. As a bonus I get positive feedback from my clients, which is incredibly empowering.
What advice would you give to a bridal hairstylist just getting started?
Theory without practice is a backpack full of swimming books behind a drowning man.
You have to practice in order to succeed.
