Can you tell us a little more about you and your styling background?
I absolutely love creating beautiful hairstyles for my brides that are effortless, textured and modern. I trained to be a bridal hair stylist in London following my own wedding in 2014, where I had searched but struggled to find a hair stylist that could create the contemporary, effortless styles that I loved.
Since then I have watched countless tutorials, been on lots of training courses as well as practicing new styles regularly. I love creating styles that are perfect for the bride and reflect their personal style and wedding theme so the finished look is the ultimate version of themselves .
What bridal trends are you loving right now?
I am loving low texture updos and long flowing waves atm! It’s all about the effortless texture!
What new trends can we expect to see this season?
We are definitely seeing a shift from the boho bridal locks to a more polished finish (but still oozing effortless modern glam)!
How do you stay inspired?
I love browsing instagram for new inspiration and trying out new looks regularly on models. Whatever I do I try to put my own spin on it, so it reflects my styling and has a contemporary feel.
What advice would you give to a bridal hairstylist just getting started?
Never skip time on the hair prep!! If the hair prep is done correctly and the structure in place the styling is soooo much easier and quicker to perfect.
Best advice to a bride regarding her hairstyle?
Think about what style you want, and what you will feel comfortable with on the day. Chat through what’s important to you on the day with your stylist and they can work with you to achieve your perfect look. Also, be open to suggestions… for example: if you have dark hair adding some low lights can help define the styles and adding extensions can be a game changer on a half updo!
What is the one product/tool you can not live without?
My wax spray – its a godsend and gives a beautiful finish to the hair.
Best advice you have ever been given in the hair industry?
Practice, reflect and practice some more- like any profession, it takes time to perfect your skills and find your own personal style.
What do you love to do outside of work?
Long beach walks across the coast with the family and my dog. I live by the beach and it is so good for the soul – especially when capped off with a cosy pub lunch.
Guilty pleasures?
A chilled glass of sauvignon blanc!
